ABOUT OUR SPEAKER: Lubbockite David Sharbutt is nationally reputed for his expertise in wireless communications and his ability to develop competitive telecom ventures. He has spearheaded the formulation of many partnerships, is knowledgeable about critical issues facing potential new ventures and is a very effective speaker.
One of his newest ventures is Smartfield, Inc., a technology company focused on the presentation of useful data to the decision makers in the agriculture industry. David has been a Director of American Tower Corporation since July 2006 and was appointed to the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee in May 2007. He also served on the Audit Committee from May 2007 to November 2007. David formerly served as CEO of Alamosa Holdings, Inc., a provider of wireless personal communications services, which was acquired by Sprint Nextel Corporation in February 2006. He had been Alamosa’s Chairman and a director since its founding in July 1998 and was named CEO in October 1999. Prior to that, he was the President and CEO of Hicks & Ragland Engineering Co., an engineering consulting company, now known as CHR Solutions. While at CHR Solutions, David worked with independent telephone companies in developing strategic, engineering and implementation plans for various types of telecommunications services.
